My Cosmic Universe

I've written this poem 4 years ago while I was in our classroom and a classmate  was reporting. I know it was rude not to listen in class but it was very rare of me to be able to write in such circumstance. I can't remember who my teacher was but I can remember the classroom and the row I was in, especially the exact feeling when I was writing. I have rewritten this poem on some notebooks and have soft copies in my computer, and all awhile, I thought it didn't have a title until I happen to stumble on an old blog I made before and saw it was posted there together with the title.

Note: I normally do not put punctuation marks, but every end of a line is a stop when the poem is being read. So here it is:

You gave chaos a different meaning
When you scattered beauty around it
You opened your hands
Then dropped the stones
Colliding silently
In that vast empty space
That can only be filled
By your hands

You gave darkness an infinite grace
When your light dimly lit it
You opened your eyes
Then shed the tears
Shattering slowly
Atom by atom
Creating little candles
That spreads in that darkness

You made emptiness become unknown
When you filled it with your somber dreams
You had your arms wide open
Then wrapped it all
Turning void to oblivion
And the universe to existence.
