Diary Entry No. 2 : The Sweetest Thing I've ever heard...

Dear Diary,

     Have you ever been in love with a friend? Being in love with the person you have never ever thought you'd fall into? They said that falling for a friend could either be the best or the worst thing that could happen. The best, because you've fallen not into a stranger but to someone you have known & get along with for years. The worst, because that person might not feel the same way about you, because you're just... friends.

 AFTER I graduated from high school, i stopped studying and decided to go to college after a year of rest. While all my friends are busy with their college life, including  Ely.  He got into a good university taking up an engineering course. We often see each other so we don't talk too much.

  When one night, he asked me a favor. He asked me if I could be his pair for their incoming military ball. I want to refuse because I don't like social gatherings specially those which requires people to wear gowns & dresses. I asked some of my friends if they can go with Ely but unfortunately, they're not available and Ely already asked them. The ball was compulsory so I had no choice but to go with him since I don't want him to fail any subject because of a simple ball.

 At the night of the ball, Ely fetch me & we went to their school where the ball will be held. It started with an hour and a half of the  speech of teachers and some ceremony for the military awardees. After the teacher's speech, the students held a program presenting their talents on stage. There were some who danced, acted and sung.


 Then came Ely who brought his guitar with him. I was silently sitting when the he started to pluck his guitar and then his voice aired the whole place.


 ♪♪ "It's late in the evening... She's wondering what clothes to wear..." ♪♪


 When I heard his voice, I was slightly stunned at how good it is from the stage. I know Ely was a good guitarist & I know his voice was nice. But it's the first time I heard him sing with a microphone. 


 ♪♪"And then she asks me, Do i look alright? and I said yes, you look wonderful tonight..." ♪♪


 While he was singing, I couldn't stop myself from looking at him and feel his song within me. Silly, but I wanted to think that his song was for me. I was hoping for him to look at me while he sung it, but unfortunately, he didn't. I don't know why I was thinking this way , my heart seemed to get lost in a labyrinth just hearing him sing. I wanna figure out what it was but I'm scared of what I might realize.
